At YouBall Foundation (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our student-athletes, their parents or guardians, and our coaching staff. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, safeguard, and manage personal information through the YouBall Foundation website and mobile application (the “Platform”).
By using our Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a seamless experience for our youth basketball programs, travel teams, and private school placement services, we collect the following types of information:
Personal Identification Information: Names, birthdates, addresses, and ages of the players (ages 9-16).
Contact Information: Phone numbers and email addresses of parents/guardians and players.
Athletic & Academic Data: Player statistics, practice/game attendance, academic progress, and private school placement tracking.
App Usage Data: Device information and internal app messaging between coaches, players, and parents.
2. How We Use Your Information
The data collected within the YouBall app is strictly for internal team, player, and parent usage. We use this information to:
Manage team rosters, game schedules, and travel logistics.
Facilitate secure, direct communication between coaches, parents, and players.
Track athletic progress and character development for mentorship purposes.
Assist in evaluating and organizing academic profiles for our Private School Placement program.
Notify families about upcoming YBF events, charity collaborations, and career workshops.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We respect the privacy of our youth athletes and their families. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Information is only shared within the YouBall Foundation ecosystem:
Internal Access: Data is only accessible to authorized YouBall Foundation staff, coaches, and administrators.
User Access: Parents and players only have access to their own specific data and general team information (like rosters and schedules).
Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our student-athletes.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We only retain personal data for as long as a player is actively participating in YouBall Foundation programs (such as travel teams, camps, or mentorship).
Data Deletion Upon Leaving: We understand the importance of your digital footprint. Once a player officially leaves the YouBall Foundation team or program, all personal data, athletic tracking, and academic information will be permanently deleted from our active systems upon request from the parent or guardian. To request data deletion, please contact us using the information provided in Section 7.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Because our programs cater to youth between the ages of 9 and 16, we are fully committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from children under the age of 13.
Parents or guardians are responsible for setting up and managing the app accounts for players under 13.
Parents have the right to review, edit, or request the deletion of their child’s personal information at any time.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption and secure servers, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While no digital platform is 100% secure, we work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our student-athletes’ data.
